AlgoRhythms Status¶

Idea we're taking for the semester:
- Listen to a WAV file and pick out rhythms
- Use Fourier transform to determine tempo
- At each beat, what notes are playing
- Feed all this into a Markov model and generate a song

Other ideas (maybe spring):
- Relative note transitions rather than absolute
- Transitions by individual note rather than chord
- Modulate rhythm throughout song
- Add tone changes to rhythm

Goal for this week (9/27-10/4/2012):
- Research and figure out how to read a .wav file
