Training

Everyone who wants to use shop resources must be safety trained by the Shopmaster
MechE shop class, Collaborative Machining Center class, and other official classes can not be substituted for basic safety training, but can be substituted for Mill and Lathe training
Mill and Lathe training occurs after basic shop training and involves the completion of a training part on the individuals own time
Welding and CNC Mill training are offered intermittently. Advanced training sessions will be announced to the general body mailing list

Tooltron is a safety mechanism that restricts access to the larger more dangerous tools
The card swipe station is located at the entrance to the shop
After swiping your card, select the corresponding tool number, then press the green button the machine to activate it
if the light on the tooltron box on an active machine begins to flash, press the green button again to reset the timer, otherwise the machine will turn off
