Masetron: Scripts

Introduction

  • Skibo Cafe, 11-20-2009: My name is Maestron, and I will be your guide this evening. Please join me in welcoming the RobOrchestra on their grand debut. We'll begin the evening with a classic tune by Nicholas Rimsky Korsokav, Flight of the Bumblebee.

Witty Phrases

  • Make fun of xylobot for being a show-off (flight of bumblebees, perhaps?)
  • Like most comedians and speakers... "It's great to be in Pittsburgh!!!..."
    • Do something with a twist here since he is ALWAYS in Pittsburgh
  • Robot Jokes from the robotics club printout (on cubbies)

Song Introductions

  • Take On Me
    • This next song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985, and was on the chart for an amazing 23 weeks. Originally a blend of synthpop, acoustic guitars, keyboards, and drums, we've put a little RobOrchestra twist on it that we hope you enjoy. Without further ado, "Take on Me".
  • Another One Bites the Dust
    • Credited as Queen's best selling single, with over 7 million copies sold, "Another One Bites The Dust" has secured its place in music history. Whamola brings a strong bass line with snarebot and bassbot holding down a steady beat. Vanilla Ice, just try stealing this bassline.
  • Rondo ala Turca
    • One of Mozart's best-known piano pieces, Rondo ala Turca, is often imitated by other works of the time.
  • The Joker
    • You may know this music from a little diddy by Shaggy, but we play the original score of "The Joker" by the Steve Miller Band.
  • Reptilia
    • Featured both in Rock Band and Guitar Hero is Reptilia by the Strokes.
  • Seven Nation Army
    • Winner of the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Rock Song, this number by The White Stripes needs little introduction. Whamola's sweet bass grooves shine in Seven Nation Army.
  • Maxwell's Silver Hammer
    • An upbeat song with a twist, ""Maxwell's Silver Hammer" is an analogy for when something goes wrong out of the blue, as it so often does." The Beatles were in the recording studio working this tune while NASA put a man on the moon.
  • Office Theme
    • Range issues make this an interesting piece to play. Sometimes One more note makes the difference. We give you, The Office Theme.
  • Bicycle Theme- Pokemon
    • Bringing you back to those old days when the only cool kids were those with a level 100 Charizard. The Bicycle them from Pokemon
  • Theme from Tetris
    • Stolen from our Russian comrades, we present the Theme from Tetris
  • Carry on My Wayward Son
    • Carry on Sun, and while you're at improve Java. That Was Carry on my Wayward Son by Kansas

Self depreciating Humour

  • He's dressed like a conductor, but has no arms...
