RoboChef Project Update

As a first cooking operation, the RoboChef team decided to make a robot that will cook eggs; pictured here is the SolidWorks model of the egg cracker.

Here is a picture of the cracker. The two boxes cup the egg while a linear actuator pushes it forward onto a knife edge. The bar across the top forces the egg down onto the ridge as the actuator pushes forward. Finally, the ridge bifurcates to push the shells apart and allow the yolk to drop out. The shells fall into waste bins at the end of the structure.
